How to Start a Team

Become a Host!

Become a host for a sanctioned WRO USA local or regional competition. The WRO Foundation will be more than happy to work with your organization or educational institution regarding your donation of in-kind services and connect you with WRO USA to organize and execute your participation.

Become a Partner!

Consider a generous financial donation from yourself or your company to support one of the funds:

  • WRO Foundation General Fund: an unrestricted contribution to the general fund will allow the WRO Foundation Board of Directors to direct financial support to a program or service where it is needed most.

  • WRO Foundation Innovation Fund: WRO is constantly looking at new concepts, programs and services we can develop to increase the outreach and support of STEM education throughout the United States and the world. Currently WRO is piloting a virtual robotics competition. Future concepts include self-driving vehicles, such as a Mars rover! Your donation to this fund will provide additional seed money to make these ideas a reality.

  • WRO USA Team Support: you can designate your gift to support your local team. We will ensure that your contribution is sent to your local team organizer.

  • WRO Association International Fund: a restricted contribution to the international fund will go directly to the World Robot Olympiad Association Board of Directors to direct financial support to manage our global outreach to countries around the world that need support.

  • WRO USA Host Support Fund: your contribution can be designated to provide the WRO Foundation start-up grants or training support for new hosts throughout the United States as well as hosts in economically-disadvantaged geographic areas in the country. If desired, you can restrict your donation to the local competition host in your geographic location.
